Geography

The City of Orgard was built during a time of expansion for both Sovereign and Greyhem. The need for luxury resources and plans to travel to the southern coast made Orgard a perfect midpoint between the northern kingdoms and the prospect of new southern territories.

The Amanian Mountains guard the southern borders of the country, while the Solisteri Forest flanks the lands of their western realm. The Kingdom of Orgard has two port cities, Alme, which connects their seafaring trade routes from the eastern shore to the northern kingdoms and the southern port city of New Sporgel connects their routes to the trade merchants of Ilbed and to the Isle of Farlen.

A Shrine of Tantalasia, thought to be from the exodus of Arthur Greyhem during the beginning of the Fourth Age is located near the border to the Solisteri Forest.

People and Culture

The people of Orgard take great pride in their military academy and consider it a great honor to be part of the military. They are welcoming to guests as they are a major hub between the northern and southern kingdoms.

History

Orgard was founded in 223 CE by House Yorkand and their supporters from some of the lesser houses of Sovereign such as the Bavadors, Harwyns, and Perivals. In 872 CE King Wilhelm II established dominance over the Five Kingdoms of Men with a marriage between him and Princess Rae of House Faelyn, the ruling family of Amanor. Orgard had very good relations with both kingdoms and also agreed to the union of their nations.

In 993 CE, in the years following the Amanian Rebellion, the children of House Althorand, Atrius and Elaenia took up residence in the city, secretly seeking sanctuary in Orgard. Atrius Althorand created and operated the Orgard Thieves Guild, manifesting a successful business and it was there that he met a young Pots Talos.

An attack by the Validian Empire and Azrael, one of the Gauf Warlords, in 1006 CE would mark the beginning of the Second Great War. The Orgard Pub and Atrius’ home was destroyed while he rescued his sister and the Children of Light.
